Sportsmanship Policy

The West Georgia Kickball League in partnership with the Douglas County, Villa Rica & Carrollton Parks & Recreation Departments believe in the importance of sportsmanship and creating a great experience for all youth participants.

Players, coaches, administrators, spectators, league officials and all other persons connected directly or indirectly with the West Georgia Kickball League must promote the highest standards of sportsmanship and ethics before, during, and after any event or contest.

As in all sports, the West Georgia Kickball League recognizes the need to define the relationship between officials and spectators.

Only Head Coach-Umpires are authorized to discuss calls with each other or league officials. League officials are able to answer questions from coaches in terms that discuss the application of the rules and will not discuss specific judgment calls. All judgment calls made by league officials are final. Head Coach-Umpires are instructed to always keep games moving to maximize time and participation. Parents WILL NOT be allowed to yell out or argue about calls being made on the field! Please remember that scores and records mean nothing at the end of the day. It is about creating a great experience for all of our youth participants.

Parents and spectators are NOT authorized to discuss judgment calls with officials before, during, or after games. Parents and spectators are invited to ask league officials questions to clarify rule specifics by contacting J.D. Hughes or Ethan Dennis at westgakickball@gmail.com. League officials will not comment on judgment calls or specific situations from previous games.

The West Georgia Kickball League reserves the right to remove players, coaches, parents, or spectators from the games for acting in a manner that is not consistent with the intent of the leagues Sportsmanship Policy.

By modeling good sportsmanship, our youth participants will learn the value of fair play that will benefit them during their time in the West Georgia Kickball League, in other sports, and in the classroom as well as help support the values they will carry with them the rest of their lives.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation,

J.D. Hughes and Ethan Dennis
